Strategic insight, consumer behaviour research

“Time is the wisest of all things that are; for it brings everything to light” - Thales

I’ve found myself with a lot more time these past six months. Time to reflect, appreciate nature, spend quality time with people I love, to home school (yikes!), to remember what’s precious in life.

It’s also given me time to look back at the ups and downs of going solo with Curious Alice nearly 10 years ago. Back in 2010, when my second daughter was born, I knew changes had to be made in my life to become the Mum I wanted to be and yet continue with a career that I loved.

So Curious Alice was ‘born’ during those early days of having a new born and an ‘into-everything’ toddler. I found the time to create my vision and my brand, because when something really matters you always do. I think in many ways, Curious Alice not only reflected me as a qualitative researcher but also the relentlessly curious mind of my tenacious toddler.

I was lucky enough to have some wonderful creative people to help bring Curious Alice to life, super-talented designers, Barry Gillibrand at Mayday and Kate Henderson at Katiewoo.

Quirky and playful, Curious Alice has been nurtured and loved. With the support of many amazing clients we have delivered top-notch, strategically driven qualitative research by always making sure that whatever the deadline we make time – time to connect, chat, focus on the detail, unravel, reflect, ruminate and brood.

So as Curious Alice nears its 10th birthday, in the most uncertain of times, I have used the time gifted to me during this pandemic, to refresh the Curious Alice brand and take it forward into its second decade.
